This time it’s a new old muse of mine, that being one Parvati Chandra Patil. During this she was typically oversharing, and I actually had to filter some parts out before typing everything up. Because neither you or I need to know quite that much about her.
( Like always, if you don't want to know, don't click )
I’ve started writing again. It’s coming mainly in drips and drabs, but it’s a start. I’ve figured that when I’m not logging so much, I lose the mechanics of my writing quite a bit. And since
euterpes_corner (which appears to be coming along nicely) is due to start in about ten days, hopefully that will take care of some of the problem. Over there I have Parvati, Blaise and Laura Madley. All are pretty strong muses, though I didn’t really get enough time with Blaise to get a good grasp on him at
dis_rpg and so playing him makes me a bit nervous, but I’m not overly perturbed. I made his mother blow his inheritance, so he’s certainly not liking me at the moment.
I miss logging. If anyone from Euterpe’s is about and at a loose end, send an email. With travelling I won’t get back to you instantaneously, but it will give us something to do for a bit.
Snow is due at sea level where I’m heading on Monday. Which will be…not fun at times as New Zealanders are in the dark ages as far as central heating goes, but I’ll be able to put up with it.
While my writing itself has improved since I started role-playing, I feel like my output in terms of both fanfiction and original fiction has derailed significantly. The chief reason for this in my mind is that my characters in my own writing seem to lack the presence, the realness of the ones I have in games.
There's a lot of other factors, obviously. In many ways it's much easier to write as a duo and when I've been very lucky to play with some very talented writers, it almost seems as though the hard work is being done for me, and once I have a good enough grasp of my characters I just have to slot them into the space and let them do their thing. Additionally if your rpg is based off a series, like Harry Potter, you're working within an already established work and that makes things less complex in itself. Logs themselves also works the same way NaNoWriMo in 2006 did for me and force me to just do it rather than sitting around waiting for some perfect piece of alliteration or what-have-you to fall into my lap. Particularly with IM logs, when someone has been waiting ten minutes or so for me to write my piece, I can't take another day or so to get the "perfect" sentence.
But as far as my own writing goes, I feel like my role-play characterisation is superior to what I do in fiction, especially original fiction, and that's just one skill I can't transfer over.

I went to change my Priyanka Chopra icon, only for LJ to attempt to swindle me out of my basic account. As it stands, either I'm stuck with these pictures or I get spammed with advertisements. So there's no point in clearing out either
sont_les_mots or
ihaverealissues for other rpgers who only need six icons minus advertisements. Sorry.
Also, I am apping Scorpius Malfoy at
toffs, and I actually have a strong muse who *gasp* isn't a Draco clone and still loves his father! However, what I don't have is a PB. I was considering using Mitch Hewer, but apparently a lot of people don't like him in games. Other than him, I have no idea and anyone else I've found looks too modelly and/or old for a sixth year. Any suggestions? Someone like Connor Paolo or Alex Pettyfer would work, but they're already in play. I also liked the look of someone I saw in Home and Away, but I'll bet my favourite dress that I won't be able to find any icons or caps of him.

Veritaserum meme.
I've given my characters a healthy dose of Veritaserum and now they have to tell the truth. What does this mean for you? Ask my characters questions about anything and everything and they will truthfully answer it.
Characters: Currently Izzy Finnigan and Starla Makenna Kirke at
toffs and Mei Chang, Ginny Weasley and Blaise Zabini at
dis_rpg. You can also ask characters from past games any questions and I'll give it a shot if I can locate the muse.
Standard disclaimer still applies. If you don't want to know, don't look.
Given what a bitch he was when I was trying to write his application, Blaise was surprisingly forthcoming when it came to this. Or perhaps not so surprising, given what the content is. Anyway. He wouldn't leave me alone until it was written, so...

This will make no sense to someone who isn't following Disenchanteum, but Blaise removed points from HOOPER for impersonating a prefect!!! AHA! AHA! AHA! I knew there was a reason why I picked up that little bitch. Aaaaand if Hooper keeps on insisting that he is one, Blaise will claim that without a badge, he has no proof that this is the case and that Hooper wasn't stripped of his position, and keep on docking points for falsehoods. *giggles* Doooooo eeeeeet Xaaaan...
(For people who aren't in Dis, Hooper, the anal-retentive Gryffindor prefect, lost his badge after Seamus beat him up for threatening to go to the Carrows with proof of rebellious-type information about his fellow Gryffindors and took his badge off him, possibly as belated revenge for Seamus losing his own badge. The badge is now in Ginny's keeping. Safe to say, he won't be getting it back anytime soon.)
Yes, a spammy entry and I need to go for a run, like, ten minutes ago, but I had to share and my rpg journal made the most sense.
